Basics of English Grammer


What is a Sentence?
A sentence may be defined as a group of words which makes complete sense.
Types of Sentences
1) Assertive or Declarative sentences(A senntence which state or delcare something)
2) Imperative Sentence(A sentence which express a command or a request or a which)
3) Exclamatory Sentence(A sentence which expresses such as sudden or strong feeling)
4) Interrogative Sentence(A Sentence which axks a question)
Note1: An assertive or Declartive and Imperative sentence should always end with .
Note2: An exclamation mark should be put at the end of every Exclamatory sentence.
Note3: A question mark should be put at the end of every Interrogative Sentence.
Note4: A sentence should begin with a capital letter and end with either . or ! or ?
A sentence has two main parts
1)Subject(Which contain a Noun or Pronoun, names the thing about which something is said).
2)Predicate(which contain a Verb, tells something about that name).
Note: Usually Subject comes first and Predicate fallows.
Note: Some times Subject may be in the middle.
Note: In Impartive sentence the subject is usually omitted
